We are located at 2162 S Fork Farm Ln, West Jefferson, NC 28694. Our venue is close to Boone, NC, and West Jefferson, NC.
The Barn On New River has a capacity of 185 guests.

Yes, we have plenty of onsite parking. For your guest’s convenience, we have a parking attendant to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Our event booking is first-come-first-serve basis. Your data will be held with a signed contract and deposit.
Yes, you can schedule an in-person tour or a virtual tour. We work with many out-of-town couples and will do whatever makes you most comfortable.
We specialize in indoor/outdoor weddings for couples who love nature, seek adventure, and seek a unique and awe-inspiring rustic vibe on their special day.
Venue
We offer covered and uncovered: patios, gardens, riverfront, mountain views, fields, and more. We have a firepit and space for yard games and other outdoor activities.
Absolutely. The weather can be unpredictable in the mountains, but when you host your wedding at The Barn On New River, we move everything into The Barn for a gorgeous indoor ceremony. Even better, if you still want outdoor views as your backdrop but want to stay dry, we can slide The Barn doors open to make that happen so you don’t miss out on the vistas.
Absolutely. You are free to choose how you would like to decorate the space.
We have a variety of gorgeous chandeliers and string lighting for the interior of our barn, as well as beautiful outdoor lighting for our stone patio.

We will take care of the tables and chairs set up and tear down.
Yes, you can use our venue for engagement photos. We offer a 2-hour photo shoot for $200. We will escort you & your photographer around the property in a 4-wheeler giving you access to the mountaintop, fields, the New River, gardens, and barns. Photographer not included.
Enjoy exclusive use of the 90–acre farm, featuring picturesque ponds, fields, river frontage, gardens, outdoor patio areas, and stunning mountain views, with full photography access across the acreage.
The beautiful post-and-beam barn is handicap-accessible and features modern bathrooms with granite countertops (3 stalls/bathroom).
The built-in bar with live edge wood tops serves two separate areas of the venue, both indoor and outdoor, and is perfect for mingling with guests.
The Dahlia Suite and Lounge provide two fabulous get-ready rooms for you to get ready in style.
The caterer’s kitchen and prep area offer outside access, so they don’t have to walk through your event when they leave, saving you money on reheating food (which can cost thousands).
The stone patio cocktail area features lighting and access to the fabulous indoor/outdoor bar, making it an ideal place to sip cocktails and socialize.
The ceremony site includes a paved aisle, an arbor, and a pond with a fountain that lights up at night, adding to the magic of your special day.
The covered outdoor cocktail area at the Old Hay Bar provides yard games and a fire pit for your guests’ entertainment, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the festivities.
Take advantage of the owners’ offer to take you and your photographer to the top of the mountain for sunset pictures, creating unforgettable memories.
Parking access with an on-site attendant ensures your guests can easily arrive and depart.
The venue provides (20) 60″ round tables, (20) 8″ long tables, (10) cocktail tables, (6) whiskey barrels, and 200 indoor wooden cross-back padded chairs, as well as seating for guests at the ceremony site.
The crystal chandeliers and lighting throughout the barn create a soft, romantic atmosphere, while the 2nd-floor balcony offers breathtaking views.
Large barn doors and windows allow you to enjoy the beautiful landscape while keeping your event indoors.
Paula truly cares about caring for her wedding couples and will ensure your special day is everything you’ve dreamed of.

Accommodations
We can sleep up to twelve guests on our property – ten in the Cabin and two (you two lovebirds) in the Honeymoon Suite.
We offer a 4-bedroom, 3-bath cabin and a Honeymoon Suite in the main house with a private entrance. The cabin has seven beds:

Bar & Catering
No, we do not. Each wedding should be personal and custom, but we have an amazing list of caterers we trust, depending on your style, budget, and dietary preferences.
You may use any caterer you wish if they are licensed and insured. We ask that they are licensed and insured to protect you and your wedding day from mishaps.
Yes, we’re BYOB! Bring your beer, wine, and liquor. We simply require you to use a certified bartender. If serving liquor, you need an ABC permit, which can be obtained from your bartender, or a 1-day (special event) permit.
Yes, we do. Unlike many venues, our caterer’s kitchen and prep area have a separate entrance, so the staff can come in and out to prepare your food and take away dishes and trash without disturbing your celebration.
Yes, we do! We have a list of unique, vetted vendors who have hosted weddings here and made our past wedding couples rant and rave. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for your day, so we are careful who we allow on our vendor list.
Planning
Yes, we do! Her name is Bethany, and she is invaluable for your wedding day and planning.
We have our own full-time in-house month-of-coordinator that is used by our couples. She also offers full-service planning at an additional cost for those needing extra help.
Most wedding couples book our venue 1-2 years in advance or more.
Yes, there is a 1-hour rehearsal. This will take place the night/day before, or the morning of.
No, we do not. Some couples choose to bring in a live band, while others work with a DJ. It’s a personal preference to however you want your vibe to be on your wedding day, and we can guide you to the right choice when you take a tour.

Absolutely. We have a 90-acre property and can accommodate most needs. Our venue has multiple ceremony and reception areas. Most of our couples choose to say “I do” in front of the pond at the ceremony site and arch, then move their reception inside The Barn for dinner. The lawn, Old Hay Barn, Dahlia Garden, and outdoor spaces may also be used for your reception for guests to enjoy the firepit, play yard games, and mingle and stargaze.

You are responsible for removing everything you personally brought, such as photos, signs, decorations, etc. Our staff will remove bagged trash, clean bathrooms, take care of mopping, etc.

Logistics
Yes, we have several that we can recommend based on your guest count, style, and needs. We’d be happy to help you when you take a tour and during the planning process.
The closest international airport is Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), about 1 hour and 45 minutes away by car.
Within a few minutes of our property, there are several cabin rentals that can sleep up to 34 guests. This means that including our property, you can sleep up to 46 guests nearby. Of course, some guests prefer a hotel, and there is a Holiday Inn Express within 15 minutes of the property as well in addition to other rentals and hotels. Keep reading for the full list.

All Decked Out is located .2 miles from the end of our driveway. It has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and can sleep 6 guests. (min 3 nights). Tell them you are with the Venue.
New River Retreat is located just .2 miles from the end of our driveway, next door to All Decked Out. It has 3 king beds, 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, 6.5 bathrooms, and can sleep up to 12 guests. (min. 3 nights)
River Rocks is located just .3 miles from the end of our driveway and is next door to the New River Retreat. The cabin has 3 king beds, 3 twin beds, & 1 toddler bed and can sleep up to 10 guests. May-June 23 (min 2 nights), June 24-Sept. 4 (min 5 nights), Sept 5-Nov 17 (min 3 nights)
New River Haven is located only .2 miles from the end of our driveway, on Jarvis Circle. The cabin has 4 king beds, 1 queen bed, and 3.5 baths that can sleep up to 10 guests.
Mountain House is a 5-minute drive from the property. The cabin has 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms, and can sleep 6 guests.
View & Far Between is located in the Ashe Lake Community 10 minutes from the venue. The cabin has 2 king beds, 1 queen bed, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps 6 guests.
Unicorn Log Cabin is also located in the Ashe Lake Community. The cabin has 2 king beds, 1 queen bed, 4 single beds, 3 bathrooms, and sleeps 10 guests.
Backside of the Moon is located a 10-minute drive to the venue. The cabin has 2 queen beds, a daybed with trundle, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps up to 6 guests.
Higher Ground is a 13-minute drive to the venue. The cabin has 3 queen beds, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps up to 6 guests.
Rugged Ridge Creek Cabins are 3.3 miles from the venue. There are 4 cabins on the property, each with 2 bedrooms and room to sleep 6. They can be rented individually or all together to sleep a total of 24 guests.

Behind our on-site cabin, you can enjoy a 1-mile walking trail. You can rest at the top of the mountain with a picnic table and swing. It is on the Trails App and we can send you details once you book your date. It’s a great activity, especially for weekend weddings.
Mount Jefferson State Natural Area: This park offers a variety of trails, including a strenuous 1.1-mile hike to the summit of Mount Jefferson, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Elk Knob State Park: This park features several hiking trails, including a 3.7-mile trail leading to the summit of Elk Knob, one of the highest points in Ashe County.
Grayson Highlands State Park: Although this park is located in Virginia, it’s just a short drive from Ashe County and features some of the best hiking trails in the area. The park is known for its stunning vistas, high-elevation meadows, and wild ponies.
New River State Park: This park offers a variety of hiking trails, including several that follow the banks of the New River, one of the oldest rivers in North America. The park also features a historic mill and a visitors center.
The Mountains-to-Sea Trail: This trail stretches across the entire state of North Carolina, including a section that passes through Ashe County. The trail features a variety of terrains and landscapes, including forests, mountains, and farmland.

Our event booking is first-come-first-serve basis. Your data will be held with a signed contract and deposit.
We require a signed contract and a 50% nonrefundable deposit. The balance is not due until 90 days before your event.

We do allow pets to participate in the ceremony and welcome it! We just ask that you have one of your guests take your pet back to your accommodations after the ceremony.
